Instructor: Deb Lewis

Students will explore the art of cinematography beyond the basic principles of camera and lighting, filming several assignments designed to hone the cinematic tools used to create an overall visual approach to storytelling. Students will learn about both documentary and narrative cinematography and the director/DP relationship in order to prepare for their 881KA and 881KB first year projects. Students explore practical on set strategies and challenges, camera assisting, gaffing and gripping. Students are not expected to have any experience in cinematography upon entering this class.
